As a repeat of last year's success, we're launching a limited edition beach towel with a matching beach bag. The 100% cotton terry Special Edition towel is ideal for the beach, by the pool and when travelling. The set is woven in a limited number.
Iconic stripes
This year's Special Edition towel features distinctive stripes inspired by the iconic island towels designed by Bent Georg Jensen in 1991, which features stripe fields that interlock in an architectural pattern. Both the towel and bag feature a woven Georg Jensen Damask logo as a unique detail, and are available in the colour combination Bright Blue and Glacier.
Inspiration
Bent Georg Jensen
Designer and textile engineer Bent Georg Jensen would have turned 100 years old last year. He steered Georg Jensen Damask for many years and developed a number of unique, minimalist patterns, all based on the ancient and classic craft of weaving. The design of the new Special Edition towel draws inspiration from the Mors towel, which was part of a series of towels named after Danish islands. Each design comprised a stripe pattern with a recurring colour scheme that linked the different towels together.
